Ex-spy Joe reckons his luck has finally run out.

Joe is Joint Deputy CEO at the multinational ABC Bank, along with Felix. But Felix is an agent from Joe’s Berlin spying days. And the power-broking Felix is hell-bent on murder because of the betrayal of his father to the Stasi during a lucrative swindle across the Wall, organised by the Fat Man, Joe’s old spymaster boss. Tough for Joe as time takes its revenge... But Joe’s real role at ABC is to organise, for the US, the takeover of Rivers Pugh’s weapons business.  Here again he has his back to the wall. Unbeknown to the ABC deal moguls, he is co-habiting with the hated Rivers at Pugh Park, as he cherishes the glamorous but wounded Perdita Pugh. Very tough for Joe...

Meanwhile Tom Stone, Financial Chronicle Editor, finds that an ambivalent Bank of England throws enough stones in his path to wreck his career as well as detonating a massive forex crisis. Ironically this edges the door open for Joe and his deal.  He sees a chink...

The action boils to an agonising climax as Emma Bales arrives unexpectedly in Berlin, and Felix squeezes the trigger.
